G-SHOCK watches are the most durable digital and analog-digital watches in the industry, trusted by military personnel, law enforcement, surfers and outdoor enthusiasts around the world. Along with this, G-SHOCK is highly touted in the fashion world, worn by icons in hip-hop, sports, and design. With limited edition collaborations being released often, you can always find a G-SHOCK that matches your personality and style.

I've had it for an hour, been tinkering around, and all I can say is WOW.
First thing you need to do when you get this watch is adjust it to your time zone. What's awesome about this, is that it KNOWS what time zone you're in, *IF* you know how to adjust it. PRO TIP: Hold down the adjust button for five seconds and the hands will move by themselves to 12:00. Then hold adjust again for 2 seconds and the watch will AUTOMATICALLY set the digital and analog time (yes, the analog will spin clock or counter-clockwise on its in to match the digital) to your time zone on its own for you. *MIND BLOWN* So anytime I get on a plane and fly, all I have to do is repeat this sequence, not even know what time it is or the zone I'm in, and the watch resets the time for me. KICK FRIGGIN ASS!
Not to mention it has a second time zone so you could know what time it is in Bangladesh (useless for me but cool nonetheless), 5 alarms, a stopwatch, military or standard time, the date, the day of the week, and probably a bunch of other features I'll learn about eventually but will probably never use. Then it's got a light for the digital that you can program for the amount of seconds you want it to light up! SCHA-WING! It's also solar which means I'll never have to pay for a battery because I'm outside in the sun for atleast an hour every day. Waterproof, lightweight, feels durable on my wrist. The glass over the watch feels cheap, but to be honest, who cares it's a work watch. And if the glass happens to break, woe is me, it's going to be another thirty bucks. Boo Hoo.
The manual is a beast and after 20 minutes of reading, I gave up and went to Google, and found my answers. Why rifle through a manual with the internet on your side? When you ask a question just include Casio Module 5208 and many of my questions were answered.
Never thought I'd come upon such a great watch that looks so good while being so cheap, and has so many features, for such a great price tag. 100% satisfied off the bat, everything else is icing on the cake. If you're on the fence, GET THIS WATCH you will NOT regret it!
SO FAR SO GOOD: I've had it about a week, and so far, it works fine. The alarms are loud enough for what I need, but not annoying. For me, all the rest of the stuff (shock-resistance, water-resistance, solar power, digital display options, etc.) is a bonus: unexpected and nice to have at the price point I wanted.
CHARGING: There is a lot of fussy language in the documentation about exposing it to sun and keeping it charged. I don't think you need to worry about. On arrival mine had a middling charge. After only a couple hours outside, it was fully charged. The documentation says a fully charged watch can work up to 10 months without further light. So, don't drop it in a drawer and forget it--wear it once in a while and don't fret about charging.
SETUP: It takes a while to set up (an hour or so) but that's expected for a multi-function digital watch. Once you figure out the buttons and how to cycle through the digital display menus, it's fairly easy.
CONS: I have three small issues. One, the documentation that came with is VERY tiny print. (I assume there is a digital version that is easier to read.) Two, although the large analog display (the watch "hands") is large and easy to read, the digital display is tiny, hard to read, and parts of it are often hidden by the hands. Practically speaking, the digital display is mainly for setting the watch up, checking battery, etc., and occasional informal use of stopwatch, date, battery indicator, universal time, etc. If you use such features a lot, you will find this watch frustrating and you should look for something else. Three, it's a little larger than I prefer, but that's not a huge issue.
OVERALL: Assuming it holds up, and assuming you don't use the extra digital features a lot, it's a surprisingly good value for the price.

Is it perfect?
No . . . BUT VERY GOOD FOR THE MONEY!!!!
PROS:
Great watch for the money so far.
I wanted a basic analog watch with added digital features and solar-powered.
This fits the bill perfectly for me at least.
1. Very easy to read at a glance.
2. Analog time syncs with digital readout.
3. A relatively large face but not too large for me.
4. Actual mineral/glass crystal.
5. Very light weight on the wrist which is ok.
6. Strap is rubber/ plastic with a nice curve to fit the wrist well.
7. EASY SETUP if people take the time to follow the instructions and familiarize themselves
with all functionality of the watch. I don't use all the functions. Just use the functions you need
and forget about the rest.
8. Perpetual Calendar based on the correct location, time zone, day, date and YEAR!
You never have to adjust watch for short or long months.
9. Solar-powered with a 10-month power reserve so it says. AMAZING.
10. Never have to buy a battery.
11. Affordable . . not the end of the world if it gets lost, stolen or damaged.
12. Deadly accurate time keeping. I set this one to the online World clock and then
set my other 26 watches to this one.
13. It is a Casio with decent reputation. I have a Casio Edifice Quartz that is my daily watch
for 6 years now and it runs flawlessly. I just put in a new battery once a year. $10.00.
14. Case seems fairly tough and rises above the crystal for added protect when bumping into things.
CONS: (Really minor)
1. Lume is not great and does not last long enough.
Not really a big deal for me.
Just a comment.
2. Back Light only illuminates the tiny digital lower panel . . . not the whole watch face.
Would be really nice if all manufacturers could come up with a nice
full face backlight like Casio's own EL system on their digital only faces
or the Timex Indiglo idea.
3. Just nit picking here and personal preference.
I would prefer a solid minute hand instead of the skeletonized one.
Not a big deal.
4. Would be nice if it had Atomic Timing but that would increase price
and I understand that.
Love it so far.
Will provide an updated review if anything changes.
