Keep in mind that I'm new to watches....
First, the size. As some other small-wristed people have suggested, this watch is doable. I have it on the smallest band setting at it fits nicely. The dimensions given in the description seem accurate so the dial looks large, but not cartoonish in my opinion.
The band is very nice, but as some other reviewers have stated, is quite tough. I'm sure it will soften out with time.
The date and time are easy to set, and I've been able to sync the running seconds very easily. One thing I've noticed is that the minute hand seems not to point to some of the later minutes (55+) with as much accuracy, displaying a time slightly earlier than it is in reality. However this issue does not compound and the minute hand is perfectly aligned come the early minutes. The luminescence is excellent, with 4 dots on the dial and the 3 main hands easily visible in the dark.
I was very impressed by the chronograph, though I suppose I have nothing with which to compare it. As was to be expected, the large second hand is used for the chronograph, with a 1s step. Notably, the 1/20s dial continuously sweeps during timing, unlike many other chronographs. There are two hands on the accumulator for a total of 12 hours of timing divided into minutes, hours, seconds, and 20ths of seconds. Upon resetting, the minute/hour accumulator rotates all the way through its run which looks pretty cool. I thought I was having an issue with the chronograph randomly stopping but upon closer inspection of the manual it turns out that the 1/20s dial only continuously sweeps for 10 minutes; at which point it behaves like a traditional fractional chronograph dial, jumping to the time upon stopping.
I'm just beginning to learn how to use the stop-watch functions...very nifty though. I supposed it's time I start learning to time things with this rather than my phone app. The thing I do admire about this the most is that I haven't lost a step on time so far...and I'll be watching this closely. I never paid attention to this detail with any watches I had in the past (all gifted to me...in total, 4 in my life). I always thought that watches are useless if I have to keep resetting it to match the time, often falling behind by minutes within a week. This thing looks like it will stay on point for a long time. Hopefully it does!
If I had to mention any flaws, it would be this: there is a really long, thin hand which works as part of the stop-watch function (noticeable on the first Amazon image as pointing to the 5). When set to 0, this thin hand is off-set to the right just a smidge. As I invest in higher quality watches, I expect these things to be on point rather than sitting off-set. However, as a starter watch for me, it's a non-issue. A personal gripe is that, every time I look at the watch, I (out of habit I guess) keep expecting the thin hand to move as an indicator for seconds. On the left side of the watch is a small clock that's actually counting the seconds. This is something I'll have to get used to.
All in all, great watch. Looking forward to how it lasts.

It is extremely easy to read the dial in all lighting conditions, due to it having white hands and numbers on a black dial and looks better in the flesh than in the pictures.
The watch itself is on the smallish side in terms of its case. I have small wrists and is a perfect fit. Medium wrist may be able to wear this too but would not recommend it if any larger. This is also backed up by the leather strap, which is not the longest and a little stiff at first but softens over time.
All in all, i give it top marks at £49. Perfect fit for my small wrist but would not have purchased it at its current price of £100.
A budget Seiko that does the job and, so far, has proved to be reliable.
